A 48-year-old man who is a resident of Delta Junction was killed in a single car accident on Monday night. The accident happened on Richardson Highway south of Fairbanks. The victim lost control of his Jeep and went off the road.

Troopers in Fairbanks who responded to the accident were not available for comment on Wednesday, but Delta-based trooper Narsuk Nay, who arrived about two hours after the initial call, said beer bottles were strewn about at the crash site.

The driver of the car was dead at the scene. There was no one else in the car and no other cars were involved in the accident. Toxiocology tests are being run to see if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
